Shares are available in this friendly and supportive group. Group members often fly out together, sometimes to quite distant destinations - although this is not compulsory!

We have a fully-equipped aircraft, and all group members have access to all group equipment, including:

• four headsets
• DVD player for rear passengers
• up-to-date charts and Pooleys
• lifejackets and liferaft.

If you join the group, other group members will be pleased to help you get to know the aircraft, and to take on the use of some of its (possibly) less familiar features. We also have a friendly instructor who can take you through conversion to use the more advanced features such as the constant speed prop and retractable undercarriage.

Although this is a well specified aircraft, it is a manageable step up from a C172 or a PA28. If you have 100 flying hours (required for the insurance), you are likely to find this an interesting but achievable (and worthwhile) challenge.

There are six shares in the group, and shares are £8000 each.

The monthly charge, which includes the cost of hangarage and insurance, is £100.

We then charge a 'wet' hourly rate of around £100, although the exact figure has fluctuated a little of late due to changes in the price of Avgas. As the aircraft cruises at about 145-150 knots, this means that the 'cost per mile' is not very different from something like a PA28 or a C172 which might cruise at around the 100 knot mark (or our aircraft might even work out cheaper per mile!). We also run an engine fund, which we maintain at £10 per hour to cover the cost of major repairs.
